Call for Applications

The Tribal EPA & U.S. EPA Region 9 Conference is seeking vendors of authentic hand-crafted or personally designed Indian arts and crafts. 

Please complete the application below in full. Submitting an application is not a guarantee of acceptance. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2024.

Vendors will be notified whether or not they have been accepted no later than October 1, 2024. Once notified of acceptance, vendors will be provided with the required registration and payment link. Registration and payment MUST be completed prior to set-up. 

Vendor Rules & Requirements

  1. A 6-foot table with linen, two chairs, and a trash can will be provided to all vendors. Power can be supplied in the form of 2 outlets for an additional $125. A price will be quoted if additional power is required.
  2. Booth splitting is not allowed. Only those whose names are listed in the application may be in the booth.
  3. Vendor spaces are 8’x8’.
  4. Vendors will be assigned a space by the conference coordinators.
  5. Drugs, alcohol, and weapons of any kind (knives, hatchets, bows and arrows, firearms, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
  6. Space is assigned for four days (Monday – Thursday).
  7. Set-up begins no earlier than 7:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024.
  8. Sales can take place ONLY in paid vendor spaces. Walkarounds are not authorized.
  9. Vendors will have NO access to the back of the house or equipment. 
  10. Booths shall have no horizontal overhead projects.
  11. Canopies and tents are not permitted.
  12. Use of decorative materials, including draperies and vegetation, shall be in accordance with the California State Fire Code. 
  13. All vendors must adhere to the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990.
  14. Vendors agree to adhere to any health and safety regulations in place, including up to the time of the event.
  15. Non-adherence to these requirements will result in ejection from the event.

Indian Arts & Crafts Act of 1990

The Tribal EPA & U.S. EPA Region 9 Conference is in full support of the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990. The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (P.L. 101-644) is a truth-in-advertising law that prohibits misrepresentation in marketing of Indian arts and crafts products within the United States. It is illegal to offer or display for sale, or sell any art or craft product in a manner that falsely suggests it is Indian produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian or Indian Tribe or Indian arts and crafts organization, resident within the United States. For a first time violation of the Act, an individual can face civil or criminal penalties up to a $250,000 fine or a 5-year prison term, or both. If a business violates the Act, it can face civil penalties or can be prosecuted and fined up to $1,000,000.
