Announcement: Thank you to all Participants and Presenters at the 2021 Tribal EPA Region 9 Conference

The Tribal EPA Region 9 Conference announces Thank you to all Participants and Presenters at the 2021 Tribal EPA Region 9 Conference.

Thank you to all the participants and presenters at the 2021 Tribal EPA Region 9 Conference. Despite having to meet virtually for the second year in a row, we were able to successfully present a terrific welcoming plenary, special “Think Tank” sessions for each state, 81 breakout sessions, and the Conner Byestewa Jr. Awards and closing ceremonies to a total of 526 attendees.

Part 1 of the GAP Roundtable was by far the most well-attended breakout session with 155 participants, but all the sessions boasted robust audiences, with an average of nearly 50 people per breakout. We also saw a lot of activity in the various lounges, where folks made time to chat about specific topics or continue discussions that started in a breakout session. While it was no substitute for in-person interaction, we heard from a lot of you that the 2021 Tribal EPA Region 9 Conference was the best virtual conference you have attended. Thank you, we couldn’t have done it without your help.

Thanks also to our generous sponsors who helped make the 2021 Tribal EPA Region 9 Conference possible. We are grateful to the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians, the Ak-Chin Indian Community, California Climate Investments, the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians, the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, the United Auburn Indian Community, and the Yavapai Prescott Indian Tribe.

Finally, we are already hard at work planning for the 2022 Tribal EPA Region 9 Conference. Mark your calendars for the week of October 24, 2022. We’ve once again booked Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and expect that the third time will be the charm. Stay tuned for more details early in 2022 at the Winter RTOC.
